| Angel
Park features two 18-hole championship Arnold Palmer designs, the
Mountain and the Palm. The clubhouse is set in a southwestern motif
and restaurants feature a variety of dishes from the area.
The original Mountain
course opened in 1989 but was recently renovated and given newer,
larger greens. The course is a desert-style layout requiring many
shots to carry over vegetation and desert.
The par 3s are short and tricky, with none of the four measuring
more than 180 yards, but each demands precision. The overall yardage
plays more than 6,700 yards and is about 200 yards longer than its
sister course, The Palm.
The
Palm opened two years after the Mountain and is a wide-open
layout featuring undulating greens, often comprised of two or even
three tiers. Six of the 10 par 4s play less than 385 yards and four
play more than 400, making for great hole variety.
Angel Park is one of Las Vegas' top facilities and was the winner
of several Vegas Golfer awards, including "Best Value",
"Best 19th Hole" and "Best Youth Program." The expansive clubhouse
was also rated a "Top 100 Clubhouse" by Golf World Business
for four years in a row.
The club also features its widely popular lighted Cloud Nine par-3
course, which was designed by Bob Cupp and is open into the late-evening
hours. The course also has a challenging putting course, which is
also lighted and is complete with sand and water hazards.
Angel Park is located 15 minutes northwest of the Las Vegas Strip
and features beautiful views of the Red Rock Mountains and Las Vegas
skyline.
