Opened
in 1989, Legacy
Golf Club literally suits Vegas and this is no more apparent
than on the on the par-3 10th. Each tee box is crafted in the design
of a heart, spade, club and diamond, to remind golfers a world of
gaming excitement is just down the road.
Designed by nationally renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills,
this acclaimed facility's aesthetics are complete with rugged lava
gathering, multiple tier fairways and large undulating greens. There's
also contrasting desert flora and native grasses.
It's a signature Hills' links-style course, featuring rolling
terrain, well-bunkered holes and lighting-fast elevated greens to
go along with slopping fairways that wind through desert areas.
The back nine features the Devils Triangle: Three holes known
to make good rounds disappear quickly. The 11th, a long par 4, is
followed by two tempting short par 4s that are drivable for many
hitters, but require accuracy over length.
The 12th and 13th also feature some of the most undulating greens
on the course. Multi-level fairways and mounds make The Legacy a
signature Hills design.
The club annually plays host to U.S. Open qualifying and American
Junior Golf Association tournaments, providing players with the
ultimate test.
The Legacy has a full-service practice area, complete with grass
and matted tees, bunker area, putting and chipping green. The Legacy
was voted "Best Course in Nevada" by the Las Vegas Review Journal,
the best public course in Las Vegas by the Las Vegas Business
Press and considered "Top 10 in Nevada" by Golf Digest.
